MECC is about making a difference to people’s mental and physical health and wellbeing by making the most of day-to-day interactions and opportunities. Supporting people to make positive lifestyle changes increases the possibility of preventing ill-health and reducing health inequalities. MECC empowers people to seek their own solutions to improve their health and wellbeing.
2 skills based workshops delivered by Public Health West Sussex Healthy Lifestyles team.
- Level 1 Workshop – Very Brief Intervention key skills: This includes the key skills to have 30sec-2min conversations about lifestyle behaviors, know some of the key health messages for each MECC topic, and know about local support services and national self-care resources.
- Level 2 Toolkit – Brief Intervention key skills: This includes the key skills to have 2min-30min conversations about lifestyle behaviors, including basic motivational techniques, tools (templates) and skills to help with difficult conversations.
This event is suitable for all primary care health professionals.
